Conducting events is always Help Child’s cup of tea. Its because we think that more events conducted, more awareness created. Moreover it was the ultimate aim of The Help Child. We have conducted various events all over Tamil Nadu for the welfare of parents and children. To be show case all our events even the page won’t be sufficient enough. Here we have highlighted some of the very major events conducted by The Help Child Charitable Trust over the past decades.

2022 September – Teacher Training Programme in KRM Group of Schools, Chennai

Conducted Certificate course for the Teachers in KRM School, Perambur in September & October 2022

2021 November – Online Certificate course in Counselling

Conducted an online Certificate course in Counselling in association with Eudaimonic Centre for Positive change and well-being, Bengaluru in November 2021.

2021 August – Identification and management of Specific Learning Disability for Maharishi Vidya Mandir (SKPD &C) Choolai, Chennai

20 Teachers of Maharishi Vidya Mandir (SKPD & C), Choolai, Chennai were trained on Identification and Management of Specific Learning Disability(SLD) – by Care IBS, a unit of HELP CHILD Charitable Trust in August 2021

2020 February – Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) by Dr. Andrew Beck , Mental Health Professional in India

Successfully conducted “Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Therapeutic Supervision Masterclass” on 6th to 8th February 2020 by Dr. Andrew Beck , accredited CBT Trainer from UK. Mental Health Professionals, counsellors, Psychologists and HR Professionals from all over India participated

2020 January – Intensive Teacher training programme for KLE, Group of Schools -Karnataka

Intensive Teacher training programme on Identification and Management of Specific Learning Disability(SLD) for KLE School teachers at Hubli in Karnataka on 11th, 12th & 13th January 2020

2019 December – Intensive training programme in collaboration with Learning Links Foundation (LLF) New Delhi

In association with Learning Links Foundation (LLF), Care IBS, a unit of HELP CHILD Charitable Trust conducted Intensive training programme for SRP and RP teachers at Salem on 20 ,21 and 22 December 2019

2019 November to January 2020 – Pilot Study for TANII (Tamilnadu Innovative Initiative of the Planning Commission) for Government School Teachers in Tamilnadu

First Training programme was conducted for teachers of Government Schools in Tamilnadu for the TANII project (Tamilnadu Innovative Initiative of the Planning Commission) in association with SCERT, Department of School Education, Government of Tamilnadu from November 2019 to January 2020 (10 weeks programme). This pilot study was conducted in 7 Districts and 70 teachers from these blocks have undergone intensive training on Identification and Management of Specific Learning Disability (SLD) in school children and a follow up orientation programme for about 2800 teachers of these 7 blocks

2019 September – Intensive Teacher training programme for KLE, Group of School, Belgaum, Karnataka

Intensive Teacher training programme on Identification and Management of Specific Learning Disability(SLD) was conducted for KLE School teachers at Belgaum on 15th, 16th & 17th September 2019

2019 April – Workshop on Psychological Interventions for Medical problems such as cancer

Workshop on Psychological Interventions for Medical problems by Prof. Leslie G. Walker, University of Hull, UK was organized in association with VS hospitals, Chennai on 10th of April 2019

2019 April – First International Conference on Health Psychology

First International Conference on Health Psychology was organized on 08 & 09 April 2019. About 400 delegates from all over the World participated and shared their expertise

2017 November – Awareness Programme on SLD for teachers and parents of Edison G. Agoram Memorial School, Chidambaram.

In November 2017, an awareness programme on SLD for teachers and parents was conducted at Edison G. Agoram Memorial School, Chidambaram. Teacher training programme and Screening of children with LD was carried out.

2016 April – I.Q. Assessment & Learning Disability Assessment for students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir School, Chennai

200 students of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Sec. School, Chetpet, Chennai were assessed for IQ and Learning Disability.

2016 April – Certificate Course in Learning Disability

94 teachers of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School, Chetpet, Chennai were successfully trained in 3 batches for the Certificate Course in Learning Disability in October 2015, March & April 2016 respectively.

2015 November – Certificate Course in Learning Disability for Don Bosco Mat. Hr. Sec School and Don Bosco School of Excellence, Egmore, Chennai

23 teachers of Don Bosco Mat. Hr. Sec School and Don Bosco School of Excellence, Egmore, Chennai were successfully trained for the Certificate Course in Learning Disability in November 2015.

2015 August – Learning Disability Assessment for Sri Vivekananda Academy, Kangayam

At Sri Vivekananda Academy, Kangayam ,38 students who were identified as academically backward were assessed for IQ and Learning Disability in August 2015.

2015 July – Certificate Course in Learning Disability for Sri Sankara Group of Schools, Chennai

For Sri Sankara group of Schools 16 teachers from various branches of were trained for the Certificate Course in Learning Disability in July 2015.

2015 June – Academic backwardness and Learning Disability Assessment

Academic backwardness and Learning Disability Assessment were done for 46 students hailing from the weaker sections at Sri Sankara Matric. Hr.Sec. School, Thiruvanmiyur in June 2015.

A workshop on “Effective parenting” was conducted at Sri Sankara Matric. Hr.Sec.School, Thiruvanmiyur for the parents on March 2015.

2014 September – International Conference on Clinical Psychology Training and Practice

International Conference on ‘Clinical Psychology Training and Practice in the UK and India’ was organized on 13th September 2014. Faculties from Clinical Psychology Unit, University of Leicester, University of Manchester, UK, Care Institute of Behavioural Sciences, Chennai, Department of Psychology, University of Madras, RGNIYD, Sriperumpudur, (Govt. of India) NIEPMD, Muttukadu, Chennai, (Govt. of India) participated as Speakers/Resource Persons in this conference. About 500 delegates from South India participated in the Conference.

2014 July – Series of Seminars on “Effective Parenting” for Parents of Don Bosco Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Egmore

A Series of Seminars on “Effective Parenting” for the parents of students from LKG to 12 Std. of the DON BOSCO Mat. Hr. Sec.School, Egmore as a part of the Annual Programme for Parents in July 2014.

2014 January – ‘Conference on Parenting’ at Maharishi Vidya Mandir School, Chetpet

A “Conference on Parenting” was organized at the Maharishi Vidya Mandir School, Chetpet, Chennai in January 2014. The event was a huge success and veterans from various fields gathered together and shared their experience and contributed to the maximum.

Our Team assessed the students of Madras Christian College Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Chetpet, Chennai who were identified with features of Learning Difficulty and Academic Backwardness by their teachers and Principal.

2011 – Organized a International Conference on Behavioural Sciences

International conference was conducted for Parents, Teachers and Health Professionals in Chennai to get awareness about the LD which prevails among the children.
